WATCH: Dr. Jose Rizal Honored in Israel Ambassador Aileen Mendiola offered a wreath in commemoration of the 129th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. José Rizal, National Hero of the Philippines. The ceremony was held at Philippines Square in Haifa, which features a monument to President Manuel Quezon, who rescued 1,300 Jewish refugees during the Holocaust.
