Amtrak confirmed Thursday that the morning train rides for Aug. 18 sold out just one day after the announcement was made.

Amtrak unveiled the opening date during a multi-state press conference Tuesday. The Mardi Gras service will include stops in Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, Biloxi and Pascagoula, with final destinations in New Orleans and Mobile. Amtrak also showed the train cabins for guests, which include free wi-fi, refreshments for purchase and no middle seat.

The service, dubbed the Mardi Gras Service, launches on August 18. “Passengers will be able to make same-day connections to Amtrak’s City of New Orleans line to Chicago and next-day transfers to the Crescent line to New York and the Sunset Limited to Los Angeles.”
