CHICAGO — Guardians’ executives Chris Antonetti and Mike Chernoff flew to Chicago on Thursday morning to address the team with manager Stephen Vogt after right-hander Luis Ortiz was placed on a “non-disciplinary paid leave” through the All-Star break.

Cleveland Guardians pitcher Luis Ortiz is the subject of a Major League Baseball gambling investigation and was placed on non-disciplinary leave Thursday, two people with knowledge of the investigation told The Associated Press.

Luis Ortiz, acquired by Cleveland from Pittsburgh during the offseason, was placed on paid leave through the All-Star break as part of ongoing probe.
