New Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo already has a sense of what four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard brings to his injury-depleted secondary — even at age 32, even after a year out of football.

As the Indianapolis Colts continue to navigate injuries at cornerback, the team is signing former All-Pro Xavien Howard to boost their depth at the position.

Jaylon Jones and JuJu Brents have missed most of training camp with hamstring injuries. Kenny Moore has a knee injury, Johnathan Edwards left Saturday's game with a concussion, and Justin Walley is on IR due to an ACL injury.

The Colts also announced the signings of linebackers Jake Chaney and Joseph Vaughn while moving tackle Blake Freeland and linebacker Jacob Phillips on IR alongside Wohler. Both players will be out for the remainder of the season.

Womack played 673 defensive snaps for the Colts last season and had good ball production, recording two interceptions and seven pass breakups. Among eligible cornerbacks, Womack was tied for 10th in forced incompletion rate in 2024, according to PFF.
