"These charges are serious, deeply troubling, and strike at the core of public trust," Rep. Tyler August, R-Walworth, said in a statement. "We will continue to monitor the legal process, but Assembly Republicans stand prepared to act decisively if these serious allegations are confirmed.

Dugan previously worked for legal aid organizations and was once the Milwaukee Bar Association president. An alderman who knows her says she's the "model of public service."
