With the loss to Indiana, Connecticut dropped to 6-27 on the 2025 WNBA season and was officially eliminated from playoff contention. The Sun still have 11 regular-season games left, but the current No. 8 seed, the Seattle Storm, hold 11 more wins at 17-18 and own the head-to-head tiebreaker with a 3-1 record. This puts Connecticut out of reach.

Steve Pagliuca said the potential deal​ to buy the Connecticut Sun and move the team to Boston still needs approval from the WNBA.
