Oklahoma Christian University Chancellor John deSteiguer gave Nigh indirect credit for his longtime marriage to his wife, Darla. When deSteiguer was a student leader at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah in 1982, he invited Nigh to campus to speak. When Nigh came, deSteiguer asked another student leader, Darla, to introduce Nigh.
