TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday that he doesn’t think President Donald Trump’s desire to ban voting by mail applies to Florida. Asked about Trump’s vow on Monday to “lead a movement” to end the use of mail-in ballots, DeSantis said he thought it only applied to states that send mail ballots to all voters.
In the second of two lawsuits challenging practices at the facility known as “Alligator Alcatraz,” civil rights attorneys sought a preliminary injunction to ensure that detainees at the facility have confidential access to their lawyers, which they say hasn’t happened. Florida officials dispute that claim.
"The check was drawn off JP Morgan Chase Bank and made payable to Cooper Legacy Builders LLC, an Orlando company Taylor had established with an LLC. His goal was to draw off of the check before the bank determined it was fraudulent," the sheriff's office said.

The Florida Department of Health said this month that Keely Farms Dairy, a farm in New Smyrna Beach, was tied to 21 infections from raw milk consumption.
