Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb has cowritten a research paper speculating whether the comet 3I/ATLAS is in fact "hostile" alien technology.

Abraham Loeb has theorized that the recently discovered interstellar object 3I/ATLAS could be alien technology, but ASU's Planetarium Director Kenneth Carrell believes it is more likely to be a small rocky object that was flung out of another star system.

"The consequences, should the hypothesis turn out to be correct, could potentially be dire for humanity," said Avi Loeb.
