The outbreak is the second one is less than a year to infect Florida residents. Ten people, including one from Florida, died and 60 were hospitalized in 2024 leading to a recall of Boar’s Head luncheon meat. It was the largest listeria outbreak since 2011.
The CDC said listeria cases linked to the products date to 2018 but investigators had been previously unable to identify the source.
