Indonesia’s rumbling Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki has erupted twice and sent clouds of searing gas miles into the sky while tons of ash fell on villages and flights were cancelled.

Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki, on the southeastern Indonesian island of Flores, erupted for about six minutes on Monday morning, the national volcanic agency reported.
