DETROIT -- Ford Motor Company says it is increasing the price of three of its most popular vehicles thanks to tariffs instituted by President Donald Trump. According to Reuters, the automaker informed dealerships this week that prices for the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV, Maverick pickup and Bronco Sport will increase in the coming weeks.

Ford Motor on Wednesday said it is raising prices on three models produced in Mexico, pointing to higher U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles as one reason for the adjustment. The vehicles subject to the price increases of up to $2,000 per model include the Maverick, Bronco Sport and Mach-E, Ford said in a statement to CBS News.

Ford is hiking the sticker prices for the three US models it imports from Mexico by up to $2,000 each, just days after executives said they didn’t expect significant increases in industrywide car prices this year.
