Magnitude 4.5 Earthquake Shakes Uganda
A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck Uganda on Sunday night, sending tremors across its epicentre in central with parts of western, eastern and sections of the northern corridor reeling from one of the most widely felt seismic events in recent months.
Uganda has ordered an immediate border closure as a rare type of Ebola spreads, while neighboring Congo reports nearly 1,000 suspected cases and at least 220 suspected deaths.
KLM has cancelled flights to and from Entebbe airport near the Ugandan capital Kampala due to restrictions linked to an Ebola outbreak in Central Africa, the Dutch airline said late on Friday.
The volunteers are thought to have contracted the virus during a humanitarian mission in DR Congo in March and are believed to be “among the first known victims of the outbreak.”
