More than 100 people have died from storms in the last week, officials say.

Inland Broward, inland Palm Beach, the Glades, Hendry, and Inland Collier counties have been issued freeze warnings as below-freezing temperatures of around 30F and wind chills as low as 25F are likely to last until Tuesday morning.

As parts of the nation were battered by another massive winter storm, the South found itself in an unfamiliar weather territory. AccuWeather said blankets of snow stretched from Charlotte, North Carolina, to High Point, North Carolina. The highest recorded total in the state occurred in Faust, which received up to 22.5 inches of powder.

Gov. Tate Reeves announced Feb. 1 that at least 23 people in Mississippi have died due to a winter storm that hit the state more than a week ago.

National Weather Service winter storm warnings stretch from Georgia and the Carolinas into Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky.

In Oxford, where the winter storm devastated the city and left many without power, recovery is being led by the people who live there.

Some American Airlines flight attendants were left "stranded in airport terminals and hotel lobbies," the APFA union said.

Florida, North and South Carolina, Alaska, and Montana have been hit with snow, “dangerously cold” wind chills and freeze alerts.

The winter storm has moved out, but the result is dangerous roads, closed churches and extremely cold temperatures.
