BUCHAREST (Reuters) - Romania's ruling coalition agreed on Wednesday to rerun a two-round presidential election on May 4 and May 18 and stuck to an original plan to endorse a single candidate, the Liberal Party, one of the three coalition parties, said.

Months after their Olympic controversy made headlines, Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu announced her commitment to Stanford, setting up a potential rematch with UCLA's Jordan Chiles.

Ana Barbosu could become the first individual Olympic medalist from a country other than the U.S. to compete in NCAA women's gymnastics.

Romanian gymnast Ana Bărbosu, who won a bronze on floor exercise at the 2024 Olympic Games after a controversial ruling that stripped the medal from American Jordan Chiles, will join Stanford’s gymnastics team in the fall.
