BOSTON — While the Celtics navigate a transitional offseason, three new rookies are entering the organization following the 2025 NBA Draft. Realistically, all three of those guys aren’t expected to contribute immediately considering where they were taken in the draft.

The Boston Celtics might sign former Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard. After the Bucks shocked the NBA community by waiving and stretching Dame to make room so they could sign former Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner, the dust settled, with Lillard sharing he was actually happy with this course of events.

Lillard, who could miss all of next season after rupturing his Achilles’ tendon during the Bucks’ first-round playoff loss to Indiana, will soon become an intriguing and likely affordable free agent.

When the Celtics sold to new ownership, it was apparent that the current core would be changed. It's an unfortunate reality and Boston was facing major penalties due to the second apron of the luxury tax.
