Now 32, Schwarber is one of several core Phillies players scheduled to hit free agency after this season, along with catcher J.T. Realmuto and lefty Ranger Suárez. The Philadelphia Phillies slugger took two pitches — a ball and then a strike — before teeing up a 366-foot "Schwarbomb" to right-center field in the bottom of the first inning Friday night against the Los Angeles Angels.

The lefty stepped to the plate when a 6-6 tie after nine innings sent the midsummer classic to the first "swing-off" in the game's history. Schwarber efficiently used his three swings to launch three homers and beat the American League 4-3 in the "Home Runs For The Win" contest that decided the game.
