Microsoft is expanding Xbox Series X|S console repair options in a bid to promote sustainability and reduced waste. As shared via Xbox Wire on Wednesday, the company is now expanding its repairability program by partnering with uBreakiFix by Asurion, which will become the first Xbox Authorized Service Provider.

Microsoft is expanding its Xbox repairability program to give owners of Xbox Series X|S consoles more options to repair them.

What this entails is an expansion of in-person repair options for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, by way of a partnership with uBreakFix by Asurion and it's nearly 700 participating store locations spread out across the United States.

That repairs program will be known as 'uBreakiFix' by Asurion, and it basically enables folks to get their console repairs done in-person by a Microsoft-authorised outlet. The Xbox owner says that "nearly 700 participating store locations across the U.S." will provide this repair service for players, starting January 20th.

Xbox console repairs generally aren’t something most owners can do on their own and while there are options out there for a fix, now there’s going to be one more. Today, Microsoft officially announced that it’s partnering with uBreakiFix to handle console repairs.
