Israel’s defense minister has warned Gaza’s largest city would be destroyed unless Hamas yields to Israel’s terms, as the world’s leading authority on food crises says the city is gripped by famine from fighting and blockade.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Friday that Gaza city could "turn into Rafah and Beit Hanoun," areas that were destroyed earlier in the war, unless Hamas agrees to Israel's terms. This comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would approve the military's plans to seize Gaza City.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday he will give final approval for the takeover of Gaza City while also restarting negotiations with Hamas aimed at returning all the remaining hostages and ending the war on Israel's terms.
